About Tack In A Box
Tack in a Box was the brainchild of John Wassenaar and Christina
Seidel. John and Christina operate Foxhaven Farms, a warmblood breeding
and training farm near Bluffton, Alberta, and John is also a farrier/
blacksmith. John and Christina remain their own best customers,
using Tack in a Box as permanent stable lockers on the farm, as
well as to transport all their tack and equipment throughout their
busy summer show schedule.
Frustrating experiences transporting tack to shows and training
facilities spawned the idea for Tack in a Box. With no
practical, portable tack boxes available on the market, John and
Christina
decided to develop one themselves. John's fabrication and carpentry
skills came in handy, with the first prototype built mostly of
wood.
Ongoing trials led to a final design which was used to produce
the lightweight polyethylene Tack in a Box as you see it today.
The body and lid are molded at D&M Plastics in Lacombe, Alberta,
and final assembly takes place in the Tack in a Box production
facility
located at Foxhaven Farms. The Tack in a Box tack store handles
direct retail sales.
